Warranty
We warranty all our workmanship on hardscape projects for 5 years from the date of installation. We also warranty polymer sand along with all plants and shrubs we install for one year. The depth we excavate depends on the subsoil. Proper depth of base material will ensure your project will last.
This fabric ensures that the base material does not settle into the subsoil which, in time, would cause your patio or wall to settle and deteriorate.
At Bluegrass, we use 3/4 inch process stone gravel. ICPI recommends a minimum of 6 inches of base material but this step depends on your subsoil.
Making sure your base is properly compacted is one of the most important steps to the longevity of your project. We use heavy duty vibrating compactors to achieve this. In addition we may use a compaction method that involves using heavy equipment to achieve our desired density.
Once the base is properly compacted, we will level your project with concrete sand. The concrete sand allows us to get the proper slope to ensure adequate drainage on your project. Some contractors will use stone dust rather than concrete stone as a cheaper alternative but this leads to many more problems down the road.
Now we are finally ready to install the pavers! We will pick pavers from multiple pallets as there may be slight color variations between pallets.
After the pavers are installed we will sweep in the polymer sand. Polymer sand is great because it will prevent weed growth between pavers and prevent ant damage. Next, we will compact the pavers one final time and then top off the pavers with more polymer sand, sweep then blow off any excess sand and finally wet the sand to set it.
We will remove any excess materials from your property and bring in screened topsoil from our local distributors to re-grade any disturbed areas to your lawn. The topsoil will be ready for the homeowner to easily spread grass seed over the area.
